It's a wise decision, and one we are recommending strongly to
Cardmembers everywhere. You can't have too much protection these
days, especially when so many people are traveling more frequently
and the chances of loss or theft have escalated dramatically.
With your valuable credit cards on record with us, you greatly
increase the security you already enjoy as a Cardmember. But Credit
Card Registration is more than financial protection: it safeguards
your time and your nerves as well, by reducing the steps you'd
have to take in an emergency to just one phone call.
Hopefully, such
a situation will never arise. But should a loss or theft occur,
simply call the toll- free number (outside the U.S., call collect)--day
or night--and you're guaranteed quick notification to all your
card issuing accounts.
You avoid liability for any fraudulent charges on the cards...
and save yourself the inconvenience of replacing them: we automatically
request that new cards be rushed to you at once.
Your membership is an asset in non-emergencies, too. Should
you move, one call to the same toll-free number is all it takes
to notify every one of your charge accounts of your new address.
As you know, we
make every effort to protect the American Express Card you carry.
If the card disappears along with your cash, tickets, and other
valuables, most Cardmembers will be able to obtain an emergency
Card by the next business day through our Emergency Travel Assistance
Service, accessible through almost 950 Travel Service Offices
of American Express Company, its subsidiaries, affiliates and
participating Representatives worldwide.
