COASTAL TO HOST DIRECT MARKETING WORKSHOPS

Coastal Carolina University is sponsoring several workshops titled "Fundamentals of Travel and Tourism Direct Marketing," which are designed to assist businesses and organizations engaged in the travel and tourism market. Four separate workshops will be held Sept. 26 and 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Coastal's H. Dale Williams Center for Extended Learning. The fee for each workshop session is $99.

The workshops will provide a comprehensive overview of direct marketing as well as its effectiveness in the travel and tourism context.

Instructors for the workshops are George Wehmann, president of Direct Marketing Resources Group in Raleigh, N.C., and Larry Gustke, associate professor for travel and tourism management at North Carolina State University.

Coastal Carolina University - training cancelled due to terrorism.

CCU's Dean of Continuing Education asked Dr. Larry Guskte and I to do a workshop on Travel and Tourism Direct Marketing. Larry is a professor at NC State University who I've worked with developing marketing courses for the Travel and Tourism Industry. This is the page on the CCU website announcing the workshop.

Unfortunately, this course was scheduled to be held September 21st, 2001, ten days after 9/11. Too bad too since about 50 people were signed up to attend.

This was our second attempt to do a workshop with CCU, but after 9/11 we decided maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
